Interview with Zoe Verbauwhede from Leatt Canada
Zoe Verbauwhede has spent nearly 20 years in the motorcycle industry and is passionate about the science behind rider protection. As Brand Manager for Leatt in Canada, she combines real riding experience with cutting-edge safety technology — a major reason she believes so strongly in Leatt gear.
Why Rider Safety Drives Zoe Verbauwhede
When Zoe first learned about Leatt and its story, she was immediately inspired by the mission to protect riders. As a rider herself, she tests gear regularly and knows the risks firsthand. Her excitement for Leatt comes from the brand’s commitment to injury prevention through research, engineering, and continuous innovation.
The history behind Leatt is rooted in a tragic event that sparked a groundbreaking idea. Founder Dr. Chris Leatt, both a doctor and avid rider, witnessed a fatal crash that deeply affected him. When he looked for protective equipment to prevent neck injuries, none existed. That moment pushed him to create the first Leatt neck brace, released in 2004.
Since then, Leatt has grown into a global leader in head-to-toe protection for dirt bikers and mountain bikers. With Zoe helping lead the brand in Canada, riders have access to gear built to reduce serious injuries and keep them doing what they love with confidence.
